Someone Rescued Xena, A Dumped Dog In Trash

Xena was found lying in filth and debris in Rio Grande, Texas.

A heartbreaking photo of Xena was sent to rescuer Leslie Hennings pleading for help. She is well aware that she is trash in the eyes of her family. They threw her away like she was nothing.

Dog had given up completely. Unfortunately she does not have the energy to try. The only people she cared about had abandoned her. She was in desperate need of rescue and foster care! She’ll be there later tonight!

She was left to wither away in the sun during the day. She went hungry because she could not find food and was too sweet to fight for it. Ticks bit into her and embedded themselves in her skin, fleas crawled over her. No one gave her a second glance.

Actually she was infested with bugs and completely defeated by the time she was discovered. Also ticks had infiltrated every crevice of her body, she was extremely pale and anemic. Immediately Leslie spent hours reaching out to friends, rescue organizations, and social media contacts for assistance to Xena.

“Volunteers drove around all day. This dog was rescued an hour ago after she was placed on the surgical table at the vet and the blood transfusion began. That is what rescue entails,” said Leslie Hennings.

After plenty hours of work, Xena will have a new chance at life. Currently she is at an emergency veterinarian hospital. There the staff has been working to get her condition stabilized. She will be placed in a foster home under the care of Sandy Paws Rescue Inc.

Finally a foster home is ready to take care of her, and a medical team will be waiting for her. Xena will be needing vaccinations, tick removal, grooming, antibiotics and skin therapy. Unfortunately her care will be prohibitively expensive.
