An angelic person could not have imagined the reaction of a vulnerable puppy he wanted to help after the canine spent months suffering in the homelessness of the streets.

The protagonist of this story is Michael Baines and he is also known on the internet as “the man who rescues dogs”. The nickname he receives is because of the incredible work he is doing rescuing dogs from the streets in Thailand.

His help consists in offering them food and doing whatever it takes to make sure that no stray dog is in too much need.

Every day, this animal hero feeds around 80 street dogs that prowl around his house; he also has food places strategically placed in other areas to make sure that no Thai stray dog goes hungry. Baines also makes sure of giving them a real home, either in his house or in a one of a family that desires to adopt them.

One of the dogs Michael Baines has rescued is Milo. This little dog was first discovered by some students at Bangsaen University. They contacted Michael and told him that they had seen a dog that clearly appeared to be suffering from some kind of skin disease.

Milo was screaming in pain when his angel intervened.

When Michael arrived on the scene, he found a vulnerable 7-month-old puppy in need of help and Michael knew he had to act soon.

However, little Milo screamed in fear when Michael tried to pick him up.

“It took me about five minutes to be able to grab and hold Milo with the help of my staff. Then, we went to the clinic, where we were able to determine that he had severe demodectic mange,” Michael said.

Immediately, they began his treatment. Milo was so small and frail, he had almost no hair on his body. But after some time and with the help of medication and the love of his new temporary family, his condition began to improve.

“He regained his confidence and quickly became a new puppy,” Michael recounts.

Fifty days after finding him, Milo was feeling much better and was incredibly healthy. He looked like another puppy, but in a good way.

Michael soon found the perfect forever home for Milo in Phoenix, Arizona. The family wanted to adopt him thinking he would get along great with the other three dogs they already have in their home.

He got the best parents and canine siblings!

When 70 days had passed since Michael had saved Milo, it was time to say goodbye. Just before Christmas, Milo traveled to the United States to move in with his new family.

Today, Milo is doing very well. He lives very happily in his home and has even seen and played in the snow, something he would never have experienced in Thailand. We wish Milo good luck in the United States and may he continue to adjust to his beautiful new life.

We must thank all the people who do rescue work for our homeless animals around the world. Michael’s work is wonderful and much appreciated by all other dog lovers.
