Out one day she saw two stray kittens wandering the streets near her house.

Right away she noticed something unique about them. Than she started feeding the hungry pair and soon noticed both were having problems with their eyes. So she took them to the vets at the nearby animal clinic where they received some much-needed treatment.

The care and attention the tiny twins received helped with their eye problems. However, the financial burden was becoming too much for the kind-hearted woman. Needing help she reached out to animal shelters and rescue groups in the greater Sydney, Australia, for assistance.

None of the groups contacted wanted anything to do with the struggling twins. Wanted to offer a place for the two kittens to receive the care they needed. Diana Dammer from Inner City Strays said that there was no way they could resist trying to help the two brothers.

Knowing that without their assistance, the two young felines might not recover. Both boys have deformed eyelids, where the eyelashes turn in towards the eyeball, rubbing against the pupil. 24 hours after surgery both Stevie and Isaac were playing as though nothing had happened.

The vet says both are very playful, with sweet personalities. Though Isaac has ulcers on his eyes and Stevie is completely blind. The doctors were able to save Isaac’s good eye and removed the blind one. His completely blind brother Stevie relies on his twin in an amazing way.

The twin brothers are always together and never far away from each other. They are constantly helping each other out! After they were fully recovered, the two were put up for adoption. They were discovered by a loving family who was captured by their incredible story. After their adoption, the two blind twin kittens were given new names Buddha and Mogwai.

“Stevie and Isaac’s story is one of survival, resilience and brotherly love. Their disability has no negative impact on their quality of life whatsoever,” the rescue said. “We learned so much from this pair and they will always hold a special place in our hearts.”
