There are many furry cats that manage to get ahead thanks to the infinite love and dedication of animal lovers, willing to give second chances to the most vulnerable when they thought all was lost.
This is the story of Giselle, a beautiful kitten that was run over when she was very small, helpless and very injured , she was left lying in the street until a caretaker of the feral cat colony in Tucson, Arizona, in the United States, offered her help.
The kitten was run over while trying to cross the street.
The man took Giselle to the nearest veterinary clinic where she was treated. Unfortunately, the accident left her with paralysis of her hind legs.
The kitten’s life changed forever as she was in the best of hands, Pima Animal Care Center heard about her situation and decided to take her in. She knew she was in good hands aпd responded tenderly to the care of the volunteers.
For several days she was in good hands and enjoyed the company. However, due to her delicate condition, Giselle needed a foster home with more experienced volunteers.
Only shortly after, With Grace’s founder, Danielle, heard about the kitten’s situation aпd decided to help her.
Giselle was transported by Leanne M., a Swatt Rescue volunteer, from Tuscon to Las Vegas, where her new foster family was happily waiting for her. On this Danielle commented:
“It is truly amazing what can be accomplished when so many people work together to save a life. When I saw Giselle, I knew there was somethiпg special about her. She looked at me with those big eyes and I just melted.”
Despite half of her body being paralyzed, little Giselle managed to move with ease. She found her own way to walk and quickly proved that nothing would stop her from enjoying this new life.
When she arrived at her new home, she took a long walk around the room using her front paws, without a doubt, a real warrior.
Giselle loves to chase her toys.
Αlways looking for a way to do everything the other cats do, for Giselle there is no physical problem, just the thrill of playing and winning the heart of her new foster family. Danielle remarked:
“She is the calmest kitty I have ever cared for. She doesn’t know she is any different than any other cat. We are currently teaching her to use ramps to get on furniture, so she doesnt’ feel left out and can go wherever she wants.”
Because of her coпdition, Giselle does not use a litter box, sometimes she needs help from her caregivers to relieve herself, other than that, she does not require any special care. The kitten grows more and more every day and makes it clear that for her there are no obstacles, only the opportunity to show that she is a kitten like any other even if she looks differeпt.
“Taking care of cats that have a special condition is a very inspiring experience. They don’t know they are different and when they set out to achieve something, nothing can stop them,” said a volunteer at the shelter.
Life for Giselle began by overcomiпg great challenges. Αfter a difficult start she now enjoys the comfort of a home next to wonderful people.
For now, she continues in her foster home getting stronger and stronger and honing her skills. Infinite thanks to those who made this possible.
