It is a sad fact that pets get lost every day. But not all of them enjoy a sincere reunion with their owners.

Luckily for Bosco, a beagle mix lost in Rhode Island, he didn’t become one of those less fortunate pets. However, his happy ending was two long years in the making.

This is the cage in which Sheilah was able to capture Bosco when she learned that he was wandering the streets.

As Miss Dogs of Massachusetts volunteer Sheilah Graham explains, “They tied him up in the backyard and somehow he just got off the leash.”

When out on the street, Bosco relies on his survival instincts to get him through . This intrepid little dog found an area with several local restaurants, where he rummaged through trash cans.

Bill cried with emotion when he saw Bosco return home with Sheilah’s help. When Sheilah discovered the feral dog lived in the local neighborhood, she went and left a human trap. Fortunately, he caught Bosco.

After all that time, Bill was surprised to learn that it was Bosco’s barking. “Obviously he’s a really extraordinary dog,” Bill said.

By the time they found Bosco, Bill was out of state. Sheilah set a time for all three of them to join FaceTime.

They needed to agree very clearly on how to reunite the dog with its owner. Bosco was too old to fly and Bill was disabled.

However, the most emotional part of this story has yet to come. When Sheilah finally established contact with Bill through that video call, Bosco heard his employer’s voice and what do you think? He recognized her after two years!

Bosco was so excited that his reaction really moved the rescuer and her master a lot , those two were to meet again very soon, so Sheilah did the unimagined. Bosco couldn’t fly and her master couldn’t move, so she took it upon herself to reunite them.

In the end, Sheilah made the selfless decision to drive 2,000 miles to reunite Bosco with Bill , a more than kind and generous gesture, but to see a pet back in his master’s arms is truly worth it. After two years of being apart, they finally got back together.

Bill was very happy to be with Bosco again and his tears in the video prove it. Share this beautiful story on your social networks.
