It was the worst thing that could happen in the life of this loyal cat. When it did he fell into a deep depression, refusing to eat or drink.

In a story shared more than 25,000 times on Facebook, Rambo, the cat suddenly fell ill refusing to eat or drink. That in and of itself is not so unusual, as animals fall ill all the time. What makes this story so sad is that Rambo fell suddenly ill on the very same day that this loyal cat’s owner passed away!

According to, Fadhil Raihan, who claims to be the son of the deceased man, Rambo, and his owner shared an extremely close bond. A bond wherein wherever his owner was, you would always find Rambo.

Rambo was essentially glued to his owner, even when he was asleep, until one day his owner passed away. On that day Rambo appeared listless and depressed, appearing to lose his appetite.

However, Rambo still appeared healthy, and accompanied family members to the next six nights of prayers for Fadhil’s father.

“He would sit quietly with our neighbours who were reciting the prayers, as he it was participating as well.” Sadly though, as time went by Rambo’s health deteriorated.

Soon Rambo’s health began to deterioate.

He was taken to the vets multiple times to treat dehydration and his overall general health. After coming home he spent most of his time sleeping or sitting in front of the TV.

“Its gaze remained empty even though we have been taking care of it and feeding him with food high in vitamins.”

According to the vet, there was nothing physically wrong with Rambo. It appeared he was experiencing the pain of losing his owner.

“We brought it to the vet again and they confirmed that it is physically healthy and its vitals are normal. He just wasn’t as sprightful as before.”

Subsequently, the family decided to bring Rambo along to visit its owner’s grave. The feline reportedly sat down quietly and took in its surroundings.

He then approached solemnly towards the tombstone and sat down in front of the tombstone while they recited some prayers.

“We could only witness Rambo having his moment (with my father) before going home.”

When the family went home after, Rambo reportedly regained its appetite and even recovered from the bout of dehydration faster than expected.

As Rambo has gained popularity worldwide, Fadhil created an Instagram account for his cat, @rambotheloyalcat. So far, he has used the account to show a photo of Rambo as a kitten. Even though Rambo has recently lost a loved one, it is safe to say that Rambo will remain well-loved for the rest of his nine lives.
