For an older pit bull , even the 9 years she spent waiting underneath a dumpster to be reunited with her owner wasn’t enough to show how much she loved him.
The logic of the human world is not easy for puppies to assimilate. For our pets, the ideal life is to be quiet next to someone they swear allegiance to forever, and that was the way this black pitbull lived until the game system tricked it.
Nearly a decade ago , her father was deported from the United States but she never understood his absence and refused to give up on a possible reunion.
This little girl lives in the North American country with her parents but 9 years ago she was completely left alone. From there, a long and painful road began.
This adult dog survived off a few scraps she picked up on the street and has turned an old barn into her home; and from a container, its little roof.
Volunteers from Hope For Paws became aware of their presence at the scene after participating in the rescue of some kittens and, as expected, decided to intervene.
At first, they did not know her story but her advanced age was notorious, in addition, the poor creature was blind in one eye.
As they were able to find out from neighbors in the area, the dog belonged to a family that lived in the area and had been deported.
As if that pain was not enough, an irresponsible driver had hit her some time later, leaving her to her own devices without answering for her injuries.
With such a past, his distrust was evident and his rescue needed time and patience.
However, the furry finally gave in and the animalists were able to remove it from the container to which it had clung for years.
Once in the hands of rescuers, this little girl named Pheenie received the care she hadn’t received in years. A good bath, food and medical consultation were the first experiences of her furry one after her rescuers took her to another shelter called Animal Rescue Los Angeles.
Once the specialist checked her out, her rescuers knew that her problems went beyond her little eye.
Pheenie had her teeth broken and rotten, along with a urinary tract infection and discospondylitis. The latter is an inflammatory pathology in your spine and is usually caused by a bacterial infection.
But despite her condition, the elderly dog showed strength and desire to continue her life.
In the days following her rescue, she was surrounded by the love of her rescuers and made canine friends at the shelter. But even though everything seemed to be going great, her harsh past took its toll on her, leaving everyone who committed so much to her rescue and recovery devastated.
Five months later, his body couldn’t take it anymore and he left this world next to a fireplace. Her small eyes blurred with the illusion of seeing the human family from which they had separated her. Surely now from the other side of the rainbow he smiled at them from afar, he knew it wasn’t his fault and he forgave them.
Pheenie’s case is really unfortunate, but like her, thousands of dogs are abandoned after the eviction of their parents.
