Cooped Up In The Hot Sun, Infested With Ticks And Without Water, The Nightmare Is Finally Over For Them

Deliberately hurting, injuring or torturing another living being is one of the most reprehensible acts that can exist. The ways to do it are diverse and each one more infamous. In fact, although it may seem absurd to us, there are people who are so careless and negligent with their pets that they make us lose our sense of wonder.

In the town of Tabaida, in Tenerife, Spain, five puppies were found locked in a cave in a ravine without food or water.

The deplorable state in which they were found by the police authorities of the Civil Guard showed that the canines had been in such an unfortunate situation for some time; they were weak, literally in the bones and their bodies, but mainly their ears were mined by ticks.

The revealing images captured by the security forces show the quintet of dogs lying limp under the intense heat and inclement sun.

The infection that had developed in their ears was a Dantesque spectacle. The officers decided to act immediately, breaking down the fence that kept them isolated, took them in their arms and transferred them to the Albergue Comarcal Valle Colino. ACVC is a protector of the area, where stray animals are being cared for and treated by specialized personnel.

“It is necessary for the citizen to denounce all kinds of animal abuse. That is not a custom, but rather that a culture is created, for being against the abuse of all kinds of animals, because they are beings that suffer and feel,” the hostel spokesperson said.

According to the information that has transpired, it seems that the dogs would be under the responsibility of a hunter in the area, who had already been identified and reported to the authorities. However, there is still no resolution on his case.

“The regulation for the dignified treatment of animals establishes sanctions for people who neglect or mistreat their pets, and also regulates their sale. It must be ensured that they have sufficient space, adequate food or hydration for as long as necessary,” added the spokesman.

Unfortunately, we humans continue to think that we are superior to the rest of the living beings. For the same reason, many people continue to treat their pets unworthily. They leave them at their own risk, as if they were disposable objects, as if it were a blade of straw blowing in the wind.

It is difficult to understand that there are people so careless and selfish with their animals. Fortunately, there are also people who are not like that, and they are the ones who should be celebrated and whose behaviors should be imitated. Everything is for the well-being of all the beings that populate this wonderful blue planet.
