A dramatic event hit a four-legged friend, abandoned in a dumpster and left to his fate. Now the dog fights to live.
A team of volunteers managed to change a puppy’s life in just two months. The Arizona Humane Society (USA), rescued a 7-month-old Great Dane mix that weighed only 9 kg. His name is Lucky.
In a short time, thanks to the care of the association and the love he received, he changed incredibly, tripling in weight within 8 weeks. A team of volunteers managed to change a puppy’s life in just two months.
According to the organization, Lucky’s body score was 1 out of 9 (the lowest score possible). He was covered in sores and abrasions all over his body. The vets then implemented a treatment strategy to help the puppy recover. Hopefully of getting him back on his feet as soon as possible.
“Just over two months later, Lucky has gained nearly 18 pounds. He is finally available for adoption at AHS’s Nina Mason Pulliam South Mountain Campus,” they said.
To encourage the adoption of Lucky and the other unfortunate animals within their facilities, the Arizona Humane Society has devised a “special impromptu adoption at a reduced rate”. Especially for dogs over 20 kilos from April 20 to 21, but could extend throughout the weekend.
The reason is that the AHS kennels are at capacity limit, a problem that is afflicting many US realities and beyond. Even in Italy the problem of overcrowding is a current issue, due to the numerous abandonments.
