A stray dog with a life-threatening injury ,was doing all it could to survive on its own. But it was not enough.

The dog had been suffering terribly from a wound to his neck that he could not walk steadily. The puppy has been slithering down a busy road hoping someone would find it before it was too late.

Cars whizzed by, but not a single one stopped. Finally, a woman driving to work pulled over. As she got out of her car, she felt pain for what she saw. The dog was in such a critical moment of its life that he lashed until it remained with no strength.

It just layed there waiting for death to come. The woman was afraid to pick the poor dog up and cause more pain. She decided to call a veterinarian and asked for advice. The vet suggested that she call a local rescue group.

The rescue group was happy to help and promised the woman they would come as quickly as possible. The woman did all she could to steer traffic away from the dog until help arrived.

When the rescuers showed up, they had a special gurney. They lifted the dog carefully onto it and loaded it into their truck. They drove straight to the vet clinic. The vet was taken aback by the wound on the neck of the dog.

It must have been suffering the longest because the tissue was necrotic and infested with maggots. The vet and his assistant did their best to clean the wound and apply a special powder that assimilates the worms.

Then administered an IV with fluids, pain medication, and antibiotics. Once the dog rested a while as the special powder did its job, it was time to work on the wound. The vet sedated the dog and then pulled the dead maggots out.

When dog woke up, it was still in pain but feeling much better than before! He was distraught and confused. It had no idea what had happened. However, it felt relieved to no longer be on its own. He looks happy to have first meal surrounded by caring people.

The brave dog is doing great and is going to it’s foster home soon. Once it completely heals, dog will be available for adoption. Luckily, it’s story did not end tragically.
