Firefighters Save A Puppy Buried Under Kilos Of Earth That Begged For Help With The Last Howl

It is not just putting out fires or parading down a street in a machine equipped with hoses and sophisticated elements to deal with emergencies. Being a firefighter is fulfilling selfless social work full of the greatest will to do things with the best that human beings have: love.

This task is not easy at all. Joys, sorrows, triumphs and failures are aspects that, as in any profession or trade of all known and unknown, the men and women who are part of the official fire department must face.

This is not a common case! Some brave volunteers, as their vocation dictates, put their own safety on the line to rescue a puppy. The poor dog was walled up under a large amount of earth that it prevented him from breathing.

It is yet to be confirmed if a landslide was the cause of the unfortunate event , but it is not ruled out that the little animal was buried by the former responsible for its care.

A neighbor who passed through the facilities of the Guaraní Club was the one who heard the weak barking of the puppy. Although he could hear it, he could not locate the exact place where the animal’s cries came from.

He immediately called the Fire Department of Caazapá, Paraguay, who showed up at the site to witness the tragic scene. The brave officers quickly mobilized, before it was too late for the poor dog, buried under at least five feet of earth and rubble.

“We didn’t know if we could save the animal, but that doesn’t mean we would stop trying,” said one volunteer.

Regardless of the cause of the terrible situation, time was running out for the animal. They rapidly started digging with their hands. Then, with the shovels that were obtained from the station and among the neighbors, the professionals removed the earth and managed to get to the lucky furry.

Once the rescue was carried out, it was possible to verify that the pet had suffered several serious cuts. The wounds made one think that the animal was indeed buried by some ruthless soul, apart from the serious difficulties in breathing due to the time elapsed under kilos and kilos of earth.

“This work, as commendable as it is, also carries a weight that is difficult to bear. Witnessing tragic situations constantly can wear anyone down and we know that better than anyone,” added one of the rescuers.

Although their work is hard and exhausting, there are such beautiful moments that serve as a reward for their hard work. And this case is a good example of it.

After a well-deserved bath and special care, this beautiful quadruped turned into a cheerful puppy. The pup is looking forward to a forever home where he is treated with the respect and love he deserves.
