Pet owners know how important these creatures can be in their lives, so when they get sick or disappear, they cause great sadness. This was experienced by a family from Saskatchewan, Canada, who for over 27 days had no clue where their beloved dog Bruno was.

John and Cindy Billesberger were responsible for the Labrador puppy and for almost a month they searched in vain to find him.

The worried owners did not know what to do to find Bruno, after the dog did not return home after an afternoon of games.

As the days passed the anguish was greater, until the Billesbergers seemed to have resigned themselves to the worst. They thought they would never see Bruno again.

What they could not imagine is that the beloved Bruno was fighting for his life in a place closer than they thought.

After 27 days without the Labrador, John left the house to walk his other dogs when one of them showed a rather suspicious attitude. The dog got away from the group and started barking in a particular area, so John decided to go investigate.

In the place there was a hole more than 3 meters deep and a dying creature at the bottom.

With great sadness the man discovered that it was his beloved Bruno, during all those days away from home the puppy had been trapped in the well without being able to get out.

John called his son to help him and using a rope he managed to get down to the place to rescue his pet.

The Labrador was exhausted and obviously weak. His legs also had some injuries.

Bruno had tried to get out of the place by his own means, thus injuring himself in different areas of his body. The labrador had some cuts, bruises and had lost the pads on his paws.

After rescuing him, John took him to the nearest vet. In the place they gave him intravenous serum to hydrate him.

Bruno was dehydrated and malnourished but he also had an anemic condition and anxiety due to the ordeal he had gone through.

The doctors explained that in spite of everything the boy had been lucky that there was some water in the old well because otherwise the outcome would have been fatal.

The family explained that they had never seen that well in the place before, but thanks to the good sense of smell of their other dog they were able to find Bruno. Now, the puppy has returned home with his parents and his other canine siblings and from there it is planned to continue with his recovery.
