Four Kittens accidentally tumble down an open drainpipe outside a home in Cleveland, Ohio.
After falling eight feet down the drainpipe the four siblings cry for help. Thankfully heard by a kind-hearted man, Robert, who unsuccessfully calls the fire department for help. Unable to find someone willing to come, he then turns to Kamm’s Cat Guardians.
They were soon on the scene in the form of Kym & Gary followed by a news crew from WKYC. Sadly rescuers found that three of the kittens had drowned in their struggle to get out. They leaved one kitten, Matilda, still crying for help.
Another rescuer, Jim, who happened to work at Home Depot made a hand-built grabber to hopefully pull Matilda to safety. He soon lowered it down the 4-inch pipe again and again trying to locate the kitten who had now gone quiet.
“Stay with me, please,” one rescuer sad during one of the failed rescue attempts.
Eventually, it worked, and they pulled Matilda out of the pipe but sadly she was no longer breathing. However, they refused to give up and one man began giving mouth to mouth. Matilda came round and began crying so she was rushed to a local vet. Now Matilda is in her foster home, enjoying life to the full.
“Although our hearts are broken for the ones who couldn’t be saved, we are grateful for little Matilda’s survival,” Kamm’s Cat Guardians said.
