A two-year-old boxer hybrid was found chained and severely malnourished outside a church in Georgia, Atlanta.
Fortunately, the sympathetic eyes of Fulton County volunteer rescuers were directed at him and he was transferred to a support center. Weighing about 14 kilograms and being dehydrated, he was received by the Sandy Springs team that would be attending with him.
It looked like a skeleton, you could really appreciate all its bone structure. They named him Odysseus, and since he arrived he began a special feeding program to solve his serious problem of malnutrition and guarantee that his body had the necessary nutrients.
There is no additional information about how he got to the church, but he was chained to one of the bars outside and it is presumed that he was abandoned for years.
Anne Clark from Angel’s Rescue commented that it is going to take a little while to figure out his personality but he looks so sweet, everyone is impressed that he endured so much hunger.
After the story of Odysseus impacted so many hearts, they finally revealed that he found an adoptive mother, who, although she could not take him home due to his health condition, was in charge of visiting him and accompanying him in his care at the veterinary health center.
Odysseus behaved like a champion who fought to live, as a way of gratitude to his heroes who gave everything for him. Even his eyes shone with the joy he felt, everyone was happy that some ray of hope was opening up for him.
UPDATE: Odysseus received full attention from the medical team in charge, in addition to his adoptive mother Nicole.
It was an example of struggle and improvement for all. Unfortunately, along the way they were discovering more diseases and ailments, which were destroying his quality of life and they came to the painful decision to sacrifice him.
His adoptive family and all the veterinarians were left with a broken heart, but knowing that at last he would rest, without pain.
This sad outcome hurts our soul, especially for so many heroes who had all their hopes pinned, and for Odysseus himself who felt that he let them down if he did not fight to the end.
