This is the story of poor Baron, a mistreated dog.

In the time since Baron was found brutally disfigured, he came to the attention of a woman who had lost her rescued Rottie. That’s when something wonderful happened. Even the most experienced dog rescuers were terrified by this sight.

The Michigan Humane Society rescued a Rottweiler. It was found wandering around the streets of Detroit, with its nose and ears stopped.

“It appears that somebody purposely maimed this poor dog. This has caused it an excellent deal of suffering,” MHS said.

The dog now named Baron was found near Livernois and Warren on Detroit’s southwest side on Tuesday, January 17, 2017. After someone called and reported seeing the injured dog, MHS rushed to rescue him.

Baron was taken to MHS’s excellent animal care center to be treated for his injuries. Since the news about the poor baron came out, the information reward that led to the arrest and conviction of the responsible person has increased from US$2,500 to US$11,200.

His vet said, “Baron is doing remarkably well considering his injuries. He’s now stable and on pain medication and antibiotics.”
