It is hard to perceive how far mistreatment of animals and profit from that mistreatment and bad conditions can go. Here is what happened to the 84 Great Danes just rescued.

In May they began investigating an anonymous complaint that in a mansion in Woleboro, New Hampshire there were many abandoned dogs. The smell coming from this place was very strong but what the rescuers discovered was even more horrible.

In the mansion there were Great Danes of all ages, from puppies, young dogs and adults. They also found some pregnant female dogs, from which they deduced that it is an illegal kennel for this breed of dog.

The rescue team knew that the mansion had previously been valued for tax purposes at $1.45 million. However, inside everything was covered by dog droppings; walls, furniture, floors. Even an area designated for their feeding was littered with rotting chicken waste.

“The conditions were so deplorable that the dogs were moving through their own waste that was smeared all over the walls, walls and furniture. It was terrible, I’ve never seen conditions like this in a house of that magnitude ,” said Lindsay Hamrick, NH State Director for the Humane Society of the United States.

The dogs are receiving the care and services of veterinarians. The authorities have not wanted to reveal the place where they have been housed, as they are considered evidence of this criminal case.

In addition to the fact that they have serious illnesses and need to be treated, they will be put up for adoption until there are no more pending charges to resolve this criminal case.

Chistina Fay has been arrested on a misdemeanor charge of abandonment. However, she was released on bail on the condition that the dogs do not return to her hands and she has no possibility of owning any more animals.

Investigations have revealed that Fay was selling the puppies for $2,500 each under the name of a kennel called “De La Sang Monde.”

The website included pictures of some dogs in clean and safe areas. Anyone who looks at these photos could come to think that the dogs were raised in safe and hygienic conditions. Sadly, the reality is very different.

The authorities have admitted that the consumers of these purebred dogs supported these mistreatments without knowing it.

Online puppy stores deny buyers access to the places where the dogs are bred, if they knew the reality of these terrible conditions surely many people would stop buying these puppies.

Some dogs were so large that they were more than 1.5 meters tall and weighed more than 90 kilos. It took a large transport team to manage to seize everyone. Now the HSUS has taken over the entire care of the dogs.

The case is still open and we hope that those responsible pay for the terrible conditions in which they had these dogs, for profiting from them even above their health.

Share this note so that animal abuse ends. Don’t buy purebred dogs, adopt!
