He was thrown into the garbage chute in a plastic bag, from the 19th floor. The janitor, who was taking out the garbage from the tank,s uddenly noticed how one package barely perciptibly stirred.
Inside was a dog that looked more like a living copse. When the poor man was handed over to the rescue,he could not only stand on his feet,but even raise his head.
In the veterinary hospital,the dog was examined and a decision was made. He had no chance of surviving. The most of humane thing is to euthanize the dog immediately. However,the pit bull looked at the volunteers with such a look that they decided to fight for his life.
Patrick (the dog was named ) was exhausted to the extreme. His body was covered with ulcers,he was trembling all the time. After all there was not even a gram of fat in the dog’s bones to warm him. The worst thing was that he could not be given food.
The dog’s stomach literally shrunk and was not able to digest food,so the dog was first injected with nutrients intravenous. Later with tiny steps, Patrick began to move towards recovery. He began to eat and drink in his own.
It was impossible to look at the dog without crying. For a long time he layed motionless in the corner of the room,and when he was taken for a walk,Patrick hudded up against the trees and,having quickly done all the street work,went back to his bed.
But even when he firmly stood on his paws,the psychological trauma of the dog made itself felt in full. He coudn’t believe that these people would not mock him. Like a compressed spring,Patrick kept all his unclaimed dog affection to himself and did not trust anyone.
And only his future mistress, Patricia Scavelli,was able to win his heart. She and her husband decided to take Patrick in and sorround him with sincere love. When the dog was discharged from the clinic,all the workers saw him off with great joy and even with flowers.
