The situation is surreal, I feel tremendous anger,” confesses the veterinary clinic that treated this dog.
In March, the La Flamenca clinic in Granada was promoting sterilization through various advertising campaigns. When a man booked an operation for his dog, the reality the vets encountered was very different.
“The man asked many questions, initially about castration. But actually began to focus the conversation elsewhere,” a veterinarian from La Flamenca told.
According to the man, the dog was always running away from their lot and even had complaints from neighbors because it attacked the sheep. He said he was thinking of taking her to the animal shelter or giving her the injection.
Maybe putting her down, even though he knew it’s illegal to kill a healthy dog. Faced with the refusal of the vets, the man left in a rage and without sterilizing the dog. The situation was surreal, he wanted to euthanize her.
He was emotionally blackmailing them for more than an hour. Eventually they managed to keep the dog in the clinic and spread the story among their contacts to find her a family.
“The man didn’t even want to pay a measly 10 euros for the change of ownership. I feel tremendous anger,” underlines the clinic spokesman.
Many immediately fell in love with this young dog. A few days later, Tana, the name chosen by Antonio, her new human, had already found a home in Malaga.
“The dog is very good, I think she didn’t know what a bed or a caress was,” the new owner told the shelter .
Tana’s first weeks in her new life were going well: walks in the countryside, good food, invasion of the human bed. But recently Antonio had a terrible fright: Tana ran over and the car ran away.
The blow left the dog with a destroyed paw. The operation was very expensive: 1,300 euros. The Malaga’s vet even advised to put her down. The family didn’t know what to do. Tana had recently been adopted, but she cried all day from the pain in her leg.
And once again, social networks have worked their magic. Within a few days, a do-it-yourself collection raised the money to save this dog. On April 4th, Tana returned home with Antonio, safe and sound.
