A woman strolled into a vet’s office and dumped a dirty kebab box at the front desk.
The unnamed woman dropped the tray at the front desk and quickly ran out of the clinic. Staff were too shocked to go after her. Also, they were worried about what was inside that box. They pulled back the lid and found a tiny, tiny kitten curled up into a little ball.
The miniature furbaby weighed less than 90 grams and looked no more than a few days old. She may have even been born that same day. Vets fear she was snatched from her mother shortly after birth. The kitten is now receiving all day long care from specially trained veterinary nurses.
They’re keeping their fingers crossed that this little thing pulls through, but she’s got a tough fight ahead. Taking kittens away from their mother is really dangerous for a new cat’s health. Kittens receive essential antibodies from their mother’s milk.
Milk helps build their immune system and protects them against diseases. Removing a kitten from her mum too early can leave them more susceptible to infections and illnesses. According to feline experts, kittens should stay with their mothers for at least the first eight to twelve weeks.
“I can’t explain how upset and furious this story makes me feel,” wrote someone. “That person needs to be identified and punished. I’m praying that this little one makes it.”
