He sat in the same spot for days, too terrified to move.
Meghan, a volunteer with Puppy Kitty NYCity , New York City, was alerted about a grey tabby who had been dumped outside a building near a cat colony. Terrified he had been sitting in the same spot for days!
When she arrived she found him huddled in fear in a corner, letting out a quiet meow as she approached, he then allowed her to scratch him behind the ears.
He quickly found he enjoyed those scritches and got up off of the ground for more, apparently deciding Meagan was safe.
“I do not recommend rescuing in business casual and nothing but a small dog carrier, but it worked! Welcome to the good life Capone,” said Meagan.
Meaghan soon found how grateful Capone was at being rescued from the streets, this was one very affectionate cat!
“I didn’t have a proper carrier with me at the time because I was coming home from work, so he immediately got on my lap and was head-butting everything.”
Capone put on quite a display after casually wandering out of his carrier and strolling up to the front of the car. This display involved head butts, gentle meows, and a head placed on her lap.
What was quickly apparent to Meaghan was that this was a cat that didn’t belong on the streets. This was a full-on furry love bug.
Capone was in a very poor state when Meaghan found him, so she shaved all the knots out of his fur, gave him a good meal and a nice soft bed to spend his first night in comfort and safety.
“He was a mess when I first found him, matted, skinny, and had some of the dirtiest ears I’d ever seen.”
With regular good meals and lots of cuddles Capone quite simply transformed.
In the process becoming a very happy, very handsome boy.
“He is the sweetest ever, a loyal love-bug.”
“He loves to watch bird TV, lay on his human’s lap, and just enjoy his indoor life,” said Meagan.
Capone’s prediliction for affection preceded him, so it was no surprise the he found his forever home in no time at all.
In fact it only took two months.
“Capone is officially adopted and has the best new home.”
“He has made it to his happy ending,” Meagan said.
“He was the best from day one. We couldn’t be happier for him.”
