Some mysteries of nature surprise us with completely unexpected situations. Such is the case with this cub, who was hailed as a “real-life giant” after being born with just one eye in the center of his head in Chachoengsao, central Thailand.
Somjai Phummaman, 45, and his wife, Amphan, 49, posted pictures of their new pet on social media and it has captivated hundreds of hearts since.
After putting them in the basket, Phummaman discovered an amazing mutation in one of the puppies born on February 2.
Two days later, everything turned out that it was a healthy dog. Since he was born, his human parents decided to bottle-feed him daily.
“We want the puppy to survive. We want to keep it as a pet until it grows up,” Somjai said.
In the image right below, we see the little “cyclops” dog with his mother and brother Mah.
Somjai said residents who visited his home commented on the pup’s resemblance to characters from the popular animated film Minions, and decided to name him after one of them: “Kevin.”
“Everyone has been surprised by the puppy and says it is a lucky sign, ” added Somjai.
After the news spread through the town, the neighbors came to Somjai’s house to see the lucky puppy, considering the day of his birth as a date to play the lottery. Somjai’s daughter Parn added that the whole family was delighted to have a pup with the condition.
It is unknown if Kevin can see out of his one eye. It usually takes around two months for a dog’s eyesight to fully develop.
“We have taken good care of the pup so far. His mother cannot breastfeed him properly , so we have to bottle feed him,” Parn said.
Somjai said that many friends asked for the cub to take home with them, but he wants to raise it together with his wife. Thai villagers consider themselves lucky to have this “special” pup in their village.
With the passing of the days Kevin is getting stronger with an apparent good health. Share this emotional story with your loved ones wishing this puppy a happy and long life.
