There are so many animals that roam the streets every single day. These poor creatures stroll around alone, hungry, and petrified. Sadly, they are always begging for the bare minimum and still do not receive any help. All these poor living beings want is unconditional love and a little care.
This story is about a poor old german shepherd, four years old and already doomed. Doomed not to be able to walk. She was found in a deserted construction laying on the cement covered in wounds and urine.
She was a guard dog at the construction but they did not need her anymore. They could not afford surgery, so they asked The GoGo shelter volunteers to take her up.
They named her Martha. After seeing her poor condition, the volunteers rapidly took Martha to vet. Unfortunately, the doctor has determined that Martha had little possibility of walking and that her life would have to be spent in a wheelchair.
Martha was unstoppable. She had a fighting spirit and was determined to recover as soon as possible. She was gradually getting better and would remain at veterinary clinic for at least another two weeks.
Martha soon got a wheelchair, she can walk now and she is very happy. She is feeling considerably better, and her wounds are healing as a result of the physicians’ ongoing care.
After three weeks they took her to the clinic for a thorough review and appointment of physiotherapy, than Martha will be moved there. Rehabilitation will cost around 25 to 30 euros per day for a minimum of twenty days.
Volunteers at the clinic decided to gather people to support this awesome dog and give her strength to be able te recover. She has already been through enough, and she deserves to be happy.
The most important of all, Martha is adopted by a couple and now she lives a fulfilling life.
Please, share Martha’s story with your loved ones!
