Woman Interrupts Her Holiday When Notices A Stone Puppy

Homeless animals are not always lucky enough to get an occasional vacation.

This is well known to an animal loving woman who was not afraid to put her days off to take care of a poor little dog in extreme conditions. His look says it all.

It all happened on the island of Aruba, located in the southeastern Caribbean. A woman named Melissa while enjoying her vacation, found a battered puppy. He looked like a rock.

The sad look on the little animal’s face prevented Melissa from continuing to enjoy the beach as carefree as the rest of them. Then she decided to get the dog medical care without concern. His life was in serious danger.

“He looked like a walking stone when I found him. I knew I wanted to help him so I opened the car door and he immediately jumped out. I’m so grateful, it’s so sweet,” said Melissa.

They named the puppy Ozzy. Actually his brutal appearance is due to the fact that he is suffering from a serious case of ringworm. Its highly contagious skin disease of the fangs and caused by the Scabiei fire tick. These mites burrow into the skin causing intense itching and irritation.

Acztually without Melissa, Ozzy’s poor fate might have been death. Unluckily his health was so poor that it caused great astonishment even among the shelter rescuers who had come to his aid.

“Melissa, who was on vacation here, saw Ozzy and contacted us for help. Deciding to help, Melissa went to find him again and took him to our vet. Ozzy looks like a rock: his face is swollen and his eyes are injured,” said rescuer Dayenne Holwerda.

As expected, Ozzy’s diagnosis was not a good one. Unfortunately he tested positive for heartworm disease, and his sarcoptic mange further affected his situation. Nowadays he had to live at the vet to be treated properly.

Sadly the treatment was painful and uncomfortable for the injured dog. In addition had to be bathed twice a week and had injections into his aching body, all for 6 long weeks. Despite all the pain, Ozzy was very happy to receive treatment.

Every day, the brave dog took a step towards better health. His transformation of him is really amazing! The puppies whose appearance scared everyone who saw them, now they are happy and have recovered their health.

He even seems to be smiling at his new life, the life he never imagined he would have. Little by little, Ozzy managed to recover. Finally is ready to have a home filled with love and care for him as he always deserves. Thanks to Melissa and Sgt Pepper’s Friends for giving this beautiful little angel a second chance!
