It’s a miracle that Lucy is still alive today. It is a wonder that little Lucy is alive today.
Rescued around 3 months ago, Lucy was found at a structure site in Bali. When her rescuer identified Lucy, she was in shock. The tiny dog’s snout was tightly wrapped in fishing wire.
Acting quickly, Lucy’s rescuer took her to the vet. It’s suspected that poor puppy was meant for the horrible and sadistic meat farms.
Lucy was taken to the veterinarian and the fishing line was taken out. But she was still in danger. She had a terrible illness called parvovirus. Therefore the veterinarians gave her a 50/50 chance of surviving.
For a few days there, things were precarious. After two weeks, Lucy started to show indications of improvement and was able to be placed immediately into foster care.
She started acting abnormally after just one day, and at this point she tested positive for distemper. Despite the fact that Lucy was solid, we didn’t think she would survive. Unfortunately she was already skin and bones when we found her.
After a lot of hard work and a bunch of various other sicknesses, Lucy began to recover. Although she fought. With no appetite, we syringe fed her bone broth every few hours and provided her all treatment we could.
Again, very slowly, Lucy made a full physical recovery and currently was ready to start her emotional recovery journey.
Undoubtedly she would curl up in the corner of her box and remain there for hours. She had absolutely no faith in humans. Slowly but certainly, Lucy started to recover from her trauma with a lot of help from veterinarians.
Over the past couple of months, Lucy has been residing with Prue, the creator of Mission Paws’ible. She is still cautious, but she is gradually returning to her former self as a happy and joyful little dog. Dog loves taking sunbathes and going on zoomies with her paw friends.
Lucy also jumps up onto the couch and sleeps cuddled up with her buddies. Something she would never ever do when she first arrived. And began to trust people and various other animals again.
