Changing the definition of animal torture and making it a felony is a major goal of animal rights activists. It advocates after the story of Ethan, an adorable puppy, was rescued from the brink of death in an animal shelter parking lot in Kentucky, USA.
The little dog did not even have enough strength to raise his head.
When the puppy was rescued on January 29, his breathing was very weak, his body looked like a bunch of small bones, and he had the saddest look rescuers had ever seen.
Ethan seems to have little strength left to fight , but fortunately, he is now in the right hands and along with the creatures that did everything to save him.
He presented a case of severe malnutrition and anemia.
Ethan’s case quickly caused a stir on local networks and the media, his touching story being used to promote and promote a bill seeking to change the definition of animal torture and make it a felony in Kentucky.
Through its Facebook page, the rescue team commented:
“We don’t know how Ethan got to this point, based on his condition we believe he may have been locked in a box without food for weeks.”
The recovery process of this beautiful puppy has been slow but satisfactory, when they found him he only weighed 17 kilos and in less than two weeks he has managed to double that weight.
Ethan is supported by a wonderful team, veterinarians, rescuers and volunteers have been the main witnesses of his impressive transformation.
“We have seen him go from a living skeleton to this beautiful soul who has fought with everything to survive . He is a reminder that we have the ability to overcome even the worst of circumstances.”
Ethan’s story has moved an entire nation and animal lovers around the world, republican Chris Freeland presented his case in Bill 57 to prevent another animal from going through something similar. In this regard he commented:
“I’m just trying to make sure Kentucky moves up the ladder a little bit on our animal welfare rules.
It’s really about dealing with the worst thing people can do, and as you know, Ethan’s story is key to this project.”
Ethan continues to recover next to all his angels, he is learning to use his little legs again and take his first steps on his own.
This beautiful puppy has a new opportunity and has shown us that everything is possible when you are next to the right people.
In a recent update, Freeland commented through its networks the following:
“He is finally well enough to be released into the care of an experienced member of staff at the end of this week to continue his rehabilitation in a loving foster home.
While he will go home with the staff member overnight, he will return to the shelter each day for specialized care so we can continue to closely monitor his progress.
So far, he has exceeded all of our wildest expectations and continues to amaze us with his remarkable recovery.”
This beautiful dog is a true warrior. Infinite thanks to all the staff who are taking care of their health and who made this possible with their donations.
