This is the story of painfully burned street dog that Animal Aid Unlimited found laying out a random doorstep.
There was no time to be wasted. AAD rescue team rapidly took her to the hospital. The sheer area of her burn was huge. Where the skin had not melted, it had detached from the tissue and, without blood flow, would turn necrotic.
With so much tissue destroyed, the staff was not sure if they could save her. But she did not thought of giving up. Her black, sparkling eyes looked at her caregivers with both alarm and trust. Her pain was monstrous, yet the quiet love her heart radiated was something everyone could feel.
Each day, the caregivers cleaned and covered the wounds with medicated cream and then covered them with a sheet of plastic before applying bandages.
Day 8: The detached necrotic skin had fallen off. The bright red tissue meant good healing.
The plastic holds in moisture and promotes healing. The vets saw results within days, but the final closure of this terrible wound would take months. But it only takes minutes to fall in love with Holly, the beautiful name the sweet rescued dog took after.
Week 4: Her wound is so much smaller! Holly is really starting to feel herself
The cause of the terrible burned wound is still unknown. However, Holly has left the past behind. She is enjoying pleasantly her second shot at life, stronger than ever! What a comeback!
