Health Worker Finds Malnourished Dog Laying Motionlessly In A Landfill

The viciousness with which some people treat animals is a matter that really surprises us, but it seems that in the face of innumerable heartless acts there is always hope. What seems like a death sentence may become a rebirth for some creatures.

An example of this type of situation is Óscar, a puppy that was found in the garbage dump and was about to be buried alive.

On the afternoon of March 10, a group of sanitation workers was at the landfill in Phoenix, United States, when they found strange noises. Some curious person decided to investigate and became a hero for Oscar’s life.

Just before proceeding to remove a mountain of debris, the man stopped the maneuver and noticed a puppy inside a container.

That defenseless little boy was Óscar, who, despite the terrible episode he had experienced, was alive. Workers immediately contacted the Maricopa County Animal Care and Control Department to expose the situation and they took action.

Oscar was found in a tunnel near 27th Ave and Lower Buckeye Road, near the city’s transfer station.

The organization shared Oscar’s story on Facebook and is working with the Two Pups Wellness Fund to help cover the costs of surgery and rehabilitation.

“The dog is believed to have been put in a dumpster, picked up by a sanitation truck and taken to the landfill,” Home Fur Good wrote on Facebook.

When the puppy was rescued, he had to undergo emergency surgery because he had a shattered pelvis and a broken leg. It was his shrieks of pain that warned the workers of his presence at the dump. Otherwise, the story would have been different.

Oscar came out of his operation well and is in the care of Home Fur Good, a Phoenix animal rescue.

What is reported by the foundation is the most powerful thesis to try to explain how Óscar got to the landfill. Also, it is likely that his injuries were caused by a medical truck.

However, according to a senior public information officer with the Phoenix Public Works Department, Yvette G. Roeder, “No one knows how he got there, or how long he had.”

Perhaps these data are not very relevant because it will be difficult to find the person responsible, but they reveal the degree of evil of some people.

Luckily, Óscar was the protagonist of a true miracle and his future changed forever, it is only a matter of him finishing his recovery so that he is ready for adoption.
