This story is about a poor puppy wandering in the woods alone in a terrible state. Until a kind man saved it and gave the dog another chance to have hope for life.
The dog was alone in a dilapidated forest near São Paulo, Brazil. Later, Alessandro Descoe was called up to help the dog. He couldn’t imagine the living conditions he found distressed pit bull in.
Alessandro has two children and six dogs. He runs a community organization called “Ales Pits Team”. Their main goal is to save street animals, especially pit bulls. This has allowed many animals to find new homes.
When the man found this dog, named Athena, it turned out that the dog was left to die in woods. Unfortunately, it had a large wound on forehead and her eyes were inflamed.
As soon as the man found the dog, he immediately took it to the nearest veterinary clinic. Veterinarians were worried about the dog’s condition.The maggots came out of the wound on the forehead, and her eyes were completely closed.
Most of all, they were worried that her organs were damaged. Actually the situation was very critical. After that, Athena was hospitalized. A X-ray and an ultrasound were taken so the vets could analyse her health conditions easier.
The veterinarians tried to remove the maggots from the forehead. Thankfully to patience and medical help, Athena soon began to react and got back on its feet.
Fortunately today Athena is different, her look is gentle and full of love, and the eyes have a special brightness. Happily this sad past, which the dog had to go through , is just a memory now.
