For a long time, the future looked very bleak for little Keta.

No one wanted her, all because of her face. When Keta arrived at the shelter, she was diagnosed with a cancerous tumour in her mouth. While she was just one year old, vets weren’t sure if they could remove the tumour. The only solution might be euthanasia.

However, the tumour was large, around the size of a baseball, and distorted the side of her face. Because of this, no one wanted to adopt her. People who came to the shelter to find a cat to adopt would immediately look away when they spotted the large growth on the side of Keta’s face.

But the tumour wasn’t just affecting how Keta looked. It also caused her great pain. As time went on, it seemed like Keta would never find a loving home. As the shelter got increasingly crowded, her name was put on the euthanasia waiting list.

Fortunately for Keta, an animal advocacy organisation heard about her plight. They came to meet her at the shelter and devised a plan of how they could help her. They decided that the best solution for Keta was to operate on her tumour.

But it came with huge risks. If anything was to go wrong during the surgery, it could cause Keta’s face to become even more deformed, or she could lose an eye. But despite the risks, the operation went ahead, and it was a complete success.

Keta was transformed into a beautiful feline.  Once she’d recovered from the surgery, it didn’t take long for Keta to find a loving home. The family instantly fell in love with her. For sure now she will get all the love needed.
